The Selective Service has been a distinguished part of history for over a century. Our small but extraordinary mission is to provide personnel during a time of national crisis; in short, the Selective Service is our Nation’s best insurance policy.
Our agency requires all men ages 18-25 who are U.S. citizens and those who have dual citizenship living abroad to register within 30 days of their eighteenth birthday. The benefits accompanied by registering with the Selective Service are paramount to a young man’s life, and our agency is dedicated to raising registration awareness and supporting educators to share this important Federal requirement with students
This guide is designed to be used as a supplementary resource for educators to teach students about the Selective Service System. Each lesson includes a 10-minute script summarizing the main points and questions for discussion, making it easy for instructors to add to new or existing lesson plans.
We have also provided a complimentary PowerPoint presentation for each lesson which can be downloaded below.
